2024 is ready to be a phenomenal chapter for Abeliano. After officially joining the music label Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia and releasing a troubled pop-rock solo work entitled Love Me Like You Say You Do last year, this time, the 23 year old musician is showing off once more with his latest work entitled Hoping You’ ll Be Mine.
Returning with pop-rock colors but with a more cheerful rhythm, Hoping You’ll Be Mine was released digitally on Wednesday (17/4).
Similar to Love Me Like You Say You Do, the latest rhapsody entitled Hoping You’ll Be Mine was written by Abeliano himself.
With hints of country-pop and surf-rock, Abeliano shows a more carefree and relaxed side of his musicality as he interacts with figures who manage to create an unexpected feeling.

“I started writing the song Hoping You’ll Be Mine in March last year,” explained Abeliano. “Even though I can’t say whether this song was inspired by my personal life story or not, what I can tell you now is that I was moved to work on a song with a musical composition like this when I remembered one of my father’s original musical compositions. I don’t know. why I immediately felt a very electrifying chemistry from his work.”
Abeliano revealed that the process of making Hoping You’ll Be Mine went quickly and naturally. Without needing to overthink, Abeliano immediately positioned himself in the narrative concept of the song and, immediately, chose the right melody and lyrics to what was in his mind.

Plus, to ensure Hoping You’ll Be Mine doesn’t have a narrow narrative, Abeliano also finds inspiration from the perspectives of the people around him if they were in the same position.
As a result, it might be said that Hoping You’ll Be Mine is Abeliano’s most ‘simple’ work so far.
“As a musician and songwriter, I want to always open myself to a variety of song ideas and formats,” continued Abeliano. “For the song Hoping You’ll Be Mine, I wanted to create something that was more straightforward and easy for listeners to digest — because, in my opinion, the message of this song is very clear.”

Another element that helped facilitate the process of working on Hoping You’ll Be Min” was the return of Diondjokoadi as producer. The musician, who has worked on music production for scene vocalists such as Uap Widya, Aruna Dawn, and Harvey Christo, revealed that the popular music presented by Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth and Ed Sheeran were additional references for him in creating the music production for Hoping You’ll Be Mine.
“Here our goal is to create something completely pop,” explained Diondjokoadi. “The structure of the song Hoping You’ll Be Mine is very suitable to be packaged as Top 40 pop music because it consists of a melody that is both simple and memorable and lyrics that are both sharp and authentic. Plus, thankfully, from the start, Abeliano already had a vision of what the vibe would be like which he wants to create through Hoping You’ll Be Mine. It’s like this is a feel-good song that is very suitable to accompany traffic jams in Jakarta.”
Lastly and no less important, the release of Hoping You’ll Be Mine follows the important announcement on March 29 2024 that Abeliano is one of the new musicians officially joining Spotify RADAR Indonesia 2024 — a form of campaign from the digital streaming platform Spotify to introducing fresh talent from a variety of Indonesian music scenes.
“I am very proud and grateful to be part of this year’s edition of Spotify RADAR Indonesia. In my opinion, this program can open up new avenues for newcomer musicians so that their works can be increasingly introduced to a wider audience. I have high hopes for the following days,” concluded Abeliano.
