H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation paths between the two countries to achieve their common interests. The two sides also reviewed a number of files listed on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly.
His Highness and the Iranian Foreign Minister exchanged views on issues of common interest and the situation in the region, in addition to regional and international developments.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation and working to consolidate the pillars of stability and peace in the region, and to achieve the aspirations and hopes of its peoples for development and prosperity.
Also in New York, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, and the meeting discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and Cyprus, and prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, in addition to a number of issues on the agenda of the General Assembly of the United Nations. The two sides discussed efforts to enhance stability in the region and meet the aspirations and hopes of its peoples for development and prosperity. They also reviewed developments on the regional and international arenas.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Cyprus, and the two friendly countries’ keenness to enhance their bilateral cooperation to achieve their common interests and support their efforts to achieve sustainable growth at all levels.
The two meetings were attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, Permanent Representative of the State to the United Nations.
