In October 2015, during a routine check on a farm, the National Republican Guard (GNR) found that he was staying illegally (and that he was banned from entering Swedish territory until January 2016). . Following this arrest, the Portuguese immigration service requested his expulsion. But the judge who examined his administrative file was more lenient, requiring him to report to the authorities once a week. A measure that Lassoued respected… for a week, before disappearing into the wild. According to his declarations to the Immigration Office, Abdesalem Lassoued arrived in Belgium in December 2015, just following this Portuguese episode.
