Abdelkebir Ouaddar, riding the horse “Istanbull VH Ooievaarshof”, won the title of this great competition, organized by the Royal Guard, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Chief and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, by winning following a decisive barrage which he finished without fail in a time of 45 sec 80/100è.
Second place went to Swiss rider Niklaus Schurtenberger, riding “Quincassi”, following a decisive jump-off which he also completed without fail in a time of 47 sec 32/100th, while Frenchman Simon Delestre, riding “I Amelusina R 51”, completed the podium (47:35).
The Brazilian rider Luciana Diniz, riding “Vertigo Du Desert”, was ranked fourth, with a time of 47 sec 55/100th, followed by the German rider Rene Dittmer, riding “Luigi Van de Nethe” (49 sec 44/100th) .
In a statement to the press, Mr. Ouaddar underlined that the competition was fierce, thanks to the participation of world-renowned riders, praising the performance of the Moroccan riders, some of whom might not reach the test of barrage.
He expressed his joy at having won the title of this competition, noting that this distinction will be a source of motivation to continue working, in order to qualify for the Olympic Games in France, alongside other Moroccan riders.
For her part, the rider Luciana Diniz expressed her joy to resume competition following a year’s break, welcoming her participation, for the first time, in an international show jumping competition in Morocco.
At the end of this great sporting event, the president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, presented the prizes and medals to the winners in the different categories, in the presence in particular of Brigadier General Abdelaziz Chater, Commander of the Royal Guard, and other personalities.
It should be noted that this first stage of the 11th edition of the “Morocco Royal Tour”, held from October 6 to 9, saw the participation of 180 riders from 17 countries, among the best Moroccan and foreign riders, and the most eminent riders national equestrian clubs affiliated to the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE).
This International Competition saw the course of 13 events, including 7 of 4 stars (4*).
The Morocco Royal Tour takes place over three stages over three weeks, at three equestrian sites in Tetouan, Rabat and El Jadida. Created in 2010 on High Royal Instructions, the Morocco Royal Tour Foundation, made up of three key members like the Royal Guard, the FRMSE and the Salon du Cheval association, and chaired by Prince Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, organizes a first-rate circuit recognized by horse professionals, confirming its place as a major competition on the world equestrian calendar, under the aegis of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).
The Morocco Royal Tour has become an unmissable equestrian event at the international level. The Royal Guard hopes to make it an opportunity for intercultural meetings and rapprochements, while highlighting the experience acquired during previous competitions.
