Abdel-Fattah: We will respond to Al-Ahly’s complaint with regulations

Essam Abdel-Fattah, head of the referees committee, confirmed that the Football Association and the referees committee will respond to the complaint submitted by Al-Ahly club with the regulations, noting that the referees of the arena and video technology in the match between Aston Villa and Burnley in the English Premier League are wrong in their decision to calculate the goal of Aston Villa.

Al-Ahly club had submitted an official request to the Egyptian Football Association to replay its match once morest Al-Ahly Bank, which ended in a goalless draw, due to the video referee’s violation of the provisions of the Football Law and the video protocol reported to all federations and rulers of the world from the IFAB system.

Abdel-Fattah said in statements to “On Time Sports 1” channel: “I think that any complaint is submitted to the Club Association, and then that complaint is transferred to the Football Association.”

He added, “Of course, we will respond to Al-Ahly club from a technical point of view and with the regulations and laws regarding his complaint to repeat the match, and we will send them the legal texts, and I cannot say them now before Al-Ahly’s protest reaches the Football Association, and we must study it.”

He continued, “The football law is built on 3 things, the most important of which is justice, and if Al-Ahly’s goal is calculated, the controversy will be much greater than what happened.”

Abdel-Fattah concluded: “The referee of the Aston Villa and Burnley match and the referee of the video technology are 100% mistaken in their decision, and in this case the referee, the fourth referee and the assistant referee close to the place where the ball was played were mistaken.”
