Entering its eighth year of operation, the Brazilian Digital Credit Association (ABCD) sent the largest number of statements, technical notes and letters to entities linked to the sector since its foundation in 2023.
In total, ABCD directed 29 initiatives, the vast majority of which were requests from members, aimed at developing a more inclusive, secure and innovative financial market for institutions such as the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) , National Council of Justice (CNJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Finance (Secretariat of Economic Reforms) and Superintendency of Operations and Digital Channels of BNDES.
Through continuous dialogue with regulatory bodies, government and players in the segment, the association actively participated in debates on the main topics related to the country’s financial agenda, such as Pix, Private and Public Consignment, Optimization of FIDCs, Digital Identity and Combat Fraud, Remuneration of Administrators of SCDs and SEPs, Legal Framework for Guarantees, Desenrola Brasil Program and Joint CMN/BCB Resolution No. 6.
“It was an intense 12 months of work that required strong strategic discipline to monitor and influence several fronts in parallel, which resulted in numerous achievements for the associated fintechs and also for the digital credit sector as a whole. Our role is to generate legal security to strengthen and improve the ecosystem in favor of a market guided by disruption, financial decentralization and democratization of credit”, says Claudia Amira, executive director of ABCD.
For this year, the entity has decided to focus its efforts on issues such as Drex, Card Revolving Ceiling and Portability + Financial Education, Book Duplicates, Artificial Intelligence, regulatory framework for SCFIs, Type 3 Conglomerates and Open Finance, among others.
“In addition, throughout 2024 we will announce new partnerships, support the main events in the sector and launch the fourth edition of Digital Credit Fintech Researchwhich since 2019 has provided an in-depth analysis of the maturation of the digital credit sector”, adds Claudia.
