Abbas discusses with the Bahraini Foreign Minister developments in the Palestinian issue

Palestine – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed, yesterday, Friday, with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, developments in the Palestinian issue.

This came during his meeting with Al-Zayani at the Palestinian presidential headquarters in the central city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, hours following his arrival in the city on an official visit of unannounced duration, according to the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

The agency reported that Abbas briefed the minister on the latest developments in the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the efforts made to stop it, speed up the entry of humanitarian aid, and prevent displacement.

Abbas warned of the danger of invading the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip, which would lead to a humanitarian catastrophe and bloody massacres.

Abbas called on the international community to intervene immediately and quickly to stop the aggression and stop the terrorist crimes of settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

He stressed the continuation of efforts for Palestine to gain full membership in the United Nations, and the importance of recognition by countries that have not recognized the State of Palestine.

The agency said, “Abbas praised the positions of the countries in the UN Security Council that stood in favor of the values of truth and justice by voting in favor of the State of Palestine obtaining full membership in the UN Security Council, which the unfair and condemnable American veto prevented.”

He appreciated Bahrain’s positions in support of the Palestinian people and their cause, as well as the positions of the Arab countries and their peoples in support of the rights of our Palestinian people.

For his part, Al-Zayani stressed that the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the people will be the top priorities of the Arab Summit in Bahrain next month.

Since October 7, Israel has continued its war on the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 110,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that have claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.

Israel also continues the war despite the issuance of an immediate ceasefire resolution by the Security Council, and despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
