ABB E-mobility signs global framework agreement with Scania to provide full portfolio of DC charging solutions
ABB E-mobility and Scania are taking their collaboration to the next level with the signing of a new global framework agreement. The agreement allows Scania to become a complete solution provider for its electric vehicle customers, offering a tailored charging solution alongside electric vehicles. Scania will supply its own network and customers with ABB’s DC fast charging technology and solutions, including Terra 360, one of the world’s fastest all-in-one electric vehicle chargers.
Agreement builds on a long-standing partnership between the two companies and will see ABB E-mobility support Scania with its “EV” offering for customers
“The collaboration with ABB E-mobility allows us to build on the momentum we see for electric transport and supports our 2030 goal of selling 50% electric vehicles annually. We value ABB E-mobility’s global coverage and local presence, as well as its vast portfolio of quality solutions for electric vehicle charging and service support,” says Fredrik Allard, Director of E-mobility at Scania.
ABB E-mobility will supply Scania with its wide range of DC solutions for domestic depot charging, destination charging and public charging – from 24 kW to 600 kW. Both companies are committed to enabling a zero-emission transportation future and taking the lead in developing the technology of the future today. The framework agreement strengthens local and global collaboration, reaching Scania customers in their home market.
ABB E-mobility portfolio enables Scania to provide a complete EV solution for customers electrifying their fleets – providing vehicle, charger, service and software
“We are delighted to help Scania offer its customers a wide range of electric vehicle charging solutions. With access to our entire DC charging portfolio, we are ensuring Scania can recommend the most suitable solution for each use case, helping its customers make a successful transition to electricity,” says Chris Nordh, Business Director of fleet and traffic from ABB E-mobility.
Reference in vehicle chargers
Earlier this year, ABB E-mobility and Scania announced a successful first trial in the development of a megawatt charging system (MCS). The test is a milestone in the development of an efficient, high-power charging solution for heavy-duty vehicles – a new technology that will cut charging times for heavy-duty vehicles in half.
