Astra is a 24 year old mare. Until Thursday, the equine was in a riding school in Flémalle and did not benefit from the care in theory at the expense of its owner. Given this lack of care, a complaint was filed with the Flémalle police and was seized on Thursday to be entrusted to the association “Animal Sans toi… t”.
“Indeed”, explains Fabrice Renard of Animal Sans Toi… t. “The horse has been abandoned for a few months. The necessary care, feeding and trimming would have been carried out by other riding school riders who decided to report the facts to the Flémalle police”.
Left without leaving an address
Quite naturally, the Flémallois police officers warned their Grace-Hollogne colleagues to go to the owner’s home. “Heard, the lady said she would do what was necessary. But, despite the warning given by the police, the situation has clearly deteriorated for this mare. A few days ago, the police therefore returned to the lady’s home, but she no longer lives there and did not report a change of address. For the moment, she is nowhere to be found”.

The mayor of Flémalle was therefore informed of the facts by his services and decided to seize the mare and bring her to safety. “She is with us. She is thin and has major skin and parasite problems. But we will take care of it”. The animal is seized for a period of 60 days. After that, it will be up to the mayor to decide on the future of the equine. In the meantime, the “custody costs” are borne by the owner since she did not voluntarily abandon Astra. If that were the case, then it would be Animal without a roof… t who would take care of the mare.
