Tragic discovery in Sarzana, province of La Spezia, where a 17 year old boy, who disappeared last August, was found lifeless in an abandoned road construction site. The macabre discovery dates back to the night between Monday and Tuesday when the body was found in a prefabricated building used as a shack inside the construction site of the Via Emiliana footbridge, on the outskirts of the Ligurian town.
From the first findings on site, the hypothesis is that the boy’s lifeless body had been there for some time. The body was in fact in an advanced state of decomposition. After all, it is an abandoned area where the workers have no longer worked for some time and where no one usually passes by.
The investigations of the state police, who are handling the case, have confirmed that he is a 17-year-old who last summer he had moved away from a child care facility of the province of La Spezia, a family home where he was hosted, and had disappeared without a trace.

This is a minor of foreign origin whose removal was reported by the minors’ assistance community last August. Since then no one had seen him in the community but now the investigators they want to understand if he had had contact with other people and with some relatives in the area.
The police are trying to reconstruct the last weeks before the discovery and at the moment cannot rule out anything, from illness to aggression. Greater certainties could only come from the autopsy which will be arranged by the Ligurian Prosecutor’s Office. The medical-legal examination will have to ascertain the timing of death and above all the exact cause of death of the 17-year-old, at least to exclude some hypotheses. Meanwhile, the investigators will continue their investigations, listening to the operators who had had contact with him in the summer but also a brother who lives in the area.
