An Australian woman claims her ex-husband abandoned her following he was granted an Australian partner visa.

Isabelle Glastonbury, 31, said she met the unidentified Texan in Dallas in 2015 and got engaged a year later. In 2018, they moved to Australia together.

They made their union a reality in a dream wedding in Palm Beach for an amount of $ 55,000, which the family of the young woman would have taken care of.

However, her husband disappeared in January 2021, following receiving his visa at the expense of Isabelle’s parents, who reportedly paid $13,000 for him to obtain it.

“I came home and 90% of his stuff was gone,” Isabelle told the Daily Mail.

Her husband’s immigration accounts were suddenly blocked, along with his phone number.

She no longer had any means of contacting her husband.

The young woman then learned that her credit cards had all been emptied.

“He completely disappeared: all our mutual friends, the witness of our wedding and his own family, no one knew where he was,” she said.

Upon reflection, she realized that he had become “aloof and started disappearing at night.”

“I think we got married and he got tired and he was too scared to say anything to my face, but he wanted to keep living in Australia,” he said. she mentioned.

She added that a friend had recently informed her that her ex-husband had remarried “almost a year following our official divorce”.

Ms Glastonbury, meanwhile, has moved on with her high school sweetheart Max, with whom she has a 3-month-old son, Mason.
