Abai earns ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 certificates

Abai, a Spanish business process outsourcing (BPO) company, won three important ISO certificates in February, 9001, 14001 and 27001. These certifications prove that the company has a structured management system attested by an external body, which reflects on the quality, trust and safety of the services provided.

“We are very happy with the achievement of the certificates, they demonstrate our concern in seeking excellence in our services. In order to stand out in an increasingly competitive market, companies are always reinventing themselves to optimize their processes and services, continuously improving them, so the certifications received are proof that we are on the right path”, comments José Octavio, CEO of Abai in Brazil.

The certificates were issued by BSI, a widely recognized international institute that serves clients in over 170 countries and aims to demonstrate to companies how to improve their performance, reduce risks and achieve sustainable growth.

ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001

The ISO 9001 standard gives guidelines and requirements for the implementation of a quality management system, with its main focus on increasing customer satisfaction, in addition to improvements in efficiency and cost savings. ISO 14001 refers to the implementation of an environmental management system. The focus is on preventing pollution and implementing controls for those significant activities that might have an impact on the environment.

ISO 27001 brings benefits to companies’ information security. This certification assures the market that companies care regarding the availability, confidentiality and integrity of information, and that it is in line with auditing and compliance requirements.

According to ISO’s annual survey, Brazil has the largest number of ISO 9001 certificates in South America, currently having more than 18,000 organizations certified by national and international certification bodies around the world, unlike ISO 27,001, where only 154 Brazilian companies have this certificate, according to the latest survey released.

next certification

Abai’s next step is to obtain PCI certification, which is a international data security standard for the card industry; its objective is to guarantee the security of sensitive data in financial transactions, which take place in a virtual environment. The company’s headquarters, located in Spain, already have this certification, the three obtained in Brazil and ISOs 18,295, 20,000-1, 45001.

“These certifications positively influence three areas of Abai do Brasil: Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and Information Security Management (ISO 27001), contributing to make the organization even more prepared to serve with excellence and innovation, since few companies in our sector are certified in the three norms and we believe that this is a differential that we offer to the market”, comments José Octavio, CEO of Abai in Brazil.
