Ali Imam said that he was with Aamir Liaquat Hussain from the 2002 Ramadan transmission and since then the endless streak began.
He said: ‘Aamir Liaquat was a master of all arts. He would arrange the Ramadan transmission himself, from directing to looking after the technical stuff and then organizing the rundown, he was a master at his job.’
Ali Imam, the producer of Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s program, said, ‘Late Aamir Liaquat loved his work very much. That person was so busy with work that it became very difficult for us to reach his speed. They used to work 16 and sometimes 18 hours.
‘Since Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s voice had a thunderous element and his lips and tone were clear, he used to check the sound system before coming on the set. They wanted an excellent sound quality. Besides, he was very punctual.’
According to Ali Imam: ‘Since they spent 18 to 19 years together, I think they suffered from broken heart syndrome. You guys will google it. It is a disease in which a person dies due to a broken heart.’
Ali Imam believes that social media has also contributed to his suffering because social media is an ‘unbridled horse’.
‘People criticized him a lot which broke him somewhere. These are all the reasons why a person who is there turns away from this world before their time. Unfortunately, none of us could do anything. May Allah raise their ranks.’
“There will come a time where my voice will be heard wherever Urdu is spoken.”
Kamran Wajahat, who used to be in-charge of the ‘Rah Niki’ segment in ‘Aman Ramadan’ transmission and worked with Aamir Liaquat Hussain since the days of ‘Parcham’ newspaper in 1990, was overwhelmed by his memory.
He told Independent Urdu that Aamir Liaquat had set the trend of Ramadan transmission.
He used to tell me that a time will come when my voice will be heard in Pakistan, India, wherever Urdu is spoken.
And Allah showed the time when the TV was on air, then Alam online he started, then he did not look back. He was known as a trendsetter in the media industry. Everywhere he was number one, I’ll just say that he came, he fell and he went.’
Kamran Wajahat said that he was a philanthropist, he made Ramadan transmission a means of humanitarian service. He closed the holes in the hearts of innocent children through ‘Rah Niki’. They brought hundreds of missing children to their homes. He used to say, “Pray that my age may not exceed 63 years. He was a true lover of the apostles.”
However, Aamir Liaquat always knew the art of captivating the audience, that’s why he remained popular with the public till the end.
Many causes and controversies always kept him in the headlines. On June 9, 2022, Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain was found dead in his home in Karachi. The news of his death has shocked all his acquaintances.
