But in the early days of 2024, he was bowling in a Test match from the same end from which Imran Khan dismissed six players in 1976 and his shirt was torn while bowling all day.

Aamir Jamal came to Pakistan in 2017 to play domestic cricket when he bowled well in the Sydney League but was not given access to any team by the recommending circles.

He was also not selected by any district level team. He became disillusioned and went to England where he collected some money by playing club cricket in the summer and returned in the winter to buy a cab on credit.

Taxis started driving on the streets of Islamabad at night. Maybe they realized that talent is not valued in this country and something has to be done for employment.

He used to play club cricket during the day and drive a taxi at night where he was spotted by a PTV coach who took him to first class cricket. His career started against Multan in 2018-19 by PTV and he was both bowler and batsman from day one.

Due to his aggressive batting style, he got a chance in the Pakistan Cup in 2021 by the Northern team.

Based on his performance in the Pakistan Cup, he was selected for the T20 match against England, from where his international career began.

Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi’s coach Mohammad Akram, when he saw his bowling, added him to Zalmi’s team where he started his career in PSL in 2023.

Although he did not perform well in the PSL, he caught the eye of the selectors and was selected for the national team for the T20 series against Afghanistan.

Aamir Jamal has played four T20 International matches so far.

Start of Test Cricket

It was an honor for Aamir Jamal to be selected for the tour of Australia. His fast bowling against the Prime Minister’s XI forced the team management to include him in the first Test in Perth.

In the Perth Test, 27-year-old Aamir Jamal caught the attention of the whole world and emerged as an authentic fast bowler by taking six wickets in the first innings of his very first Test. Pakistan lost the Perth Test but Aamir Jamal kept his performance alive by taking seven wickets in the match.

In the Melbourne Test, he once again bowled well and took a total of five wickets in both the innings and also played an innings of 33 runs in this Test.

For Aamir Jamal, the Sydney Test match was a kind of home test as he has been playing club cricket in Sydney for a long time.

In the Sydney Test, he emerged as a true all-rounder, first batting unprecedentedly in the first innings and scoring 82 runs.

He saved Pakistan’s batting from complete destruction by putting on a valuable partnership of 86 runs with Mir Hamza for the last wicket and then became a dangerous bowler in the bowling.

Aamir took six wickets for 69 runs in which the last three wickets were taken for just four runs. Thanks to his dangerous bowling, Pakistan was able to take the lead in the innings for the first time in the series.

But the Pakistani batsmen turned away their hard work, otherwise Pakistan could have changed the history in Sydney.

Aamir struggled in the second innings as well and put on a 40-run partnership with Mohammad Rizwan but could not score big. And Pakistan lost the match due to their batting failure.

Aamir Jamal was adjudged player of the match for his all-round performance. He set a new record by taking 18 wickets in three Test matches in the debut series.
