It was the perfect punctuation mark for keeper Marcus Bundgaard. He played a flawless game when Vendsyssel FF created the surprise on Saturday and put themselves definitively in the promotion play with a 3-0 victory over Sønderjyske.
The premise was clear. If Vendsyssel FF won and thus qualified for the top six, there was a clear path for Marcus Bundgaard’s transfer to Swedish Elfsborg.
It can now be executed after what must be described as Bo Zinck’s journeyman piece as head coach of the Wendelbos.
Already shortly into the match, Carl Lange put the team in front, and the Wendelbos stayed there for the rest of the match. Carl Lange won a penalty shortly before time, which he himself kicked in the box.
In overtime, the upturn was total for Vendsyssel, when Sønderjyske delivered an own goal of the more comical kind.
With the victory, Vendsyssel FF is certain to finish in the top six. The most optimistic Vendel resident will also note that there are now just eight points ahead of Sønderjyske in second place. According to Nordjyske’s information, it is an amount of more than two million kroner. The question is when Marcus Bundgaard will replace Hjørring with Borås.

Sønderjyske didn’t create the number of chances they usually do, so it was a great performance, says Bo Zinck, who gave Tim Hartzell his starting debut.
The Swedish center back got away with it. After a slightly nervous start, he was strong in the picture when the lead had to be defended. The positioning was good, the passing of the ball was safe and the interventions were well timed.
– He recovered well after that. The last 70 minutes he played a really nice game, says Bo Zinck.
