AaB is the next change for Vendsyssel: – We can win everywhere

It was the perfect punctuation mark for keeper Marcus Bundgaard. He played a flawless game when Vendsyssel FF created the surprise on Saturday and put themselves definitively in the promotion play with a 3-0 victory over Sønderjyske.

The premise was clear. If Vendsyssel FF won and thus qualified for the top six, there was a clear path for Marcus Bundgaard’s transfer to Swedish Elfsborg.

It can now be executed after what must be described as Bo Zinck’s journeyman piece as head coach of the Wendelbos.

Already shortly into the match, Carl Lange put the team in front, and the Wendelbos stayed there for the rest of the match. Carl Lange won a penalty shortly before time, which he himself kicked in the box.

In overtime, the upturn was total for Vendsyssel, when Sønderjyske delivered an own goal of the more comical kind.

With the victory, Vendsyssel FF is certain to finish in the top six. The most optimistic Vendel resident will also note that there are now just eight points ahead of Sønderjyske in second place. In Vendsyssel, however, they are most happy about the top six place and the great transfer sum, which is expected to be scored on Marcus Bundgaard.

Marcus Bundgaard probably played his last game for Vendsyssel FF. It looks like a switch to Elfsborg.

According to Nordjyske’s information, it is an amount of more than two million kroner. The question is when Marcus Bundgaard will replace Hjørring with Borås.

– It is no secret that we are in dialogue with Elfsborg, so I expect that we should have clarified that now. I will probably spend the rest of the weekend on that, and if it lands, then we have to go out and find a new keeper, says sports director Christian Larsen, who is not worried about having to find a transfer-free keeper at this time.

– Vendsyssel is a place where we have great ambitions, and we will probably resolve this situation, but when the opportunity presents itself, and it is a fair deal, then you must also be allowed to move on, explains Christian Larsen.

Fun AaB match

For head coach Bo Zinck, it was a great pleasure to note that Vendsyssel is now ready for the promotion game and can look forward to a fun match in the next round against the top team AaB.

– We didn’t come just to join in. We want to create a top team, and then it’s about striking at the right times. I just have to praise the boys for listening, says Bo Zinck.

– We might as well try to put maximum pressure on the teams at the top, and we are not favorites for anything, but when we can win 3-0 in Sønderjyske, then we can win everywhere in this series, because is the best team in the series. Sønderjyske didn’t create the number of chances they usually do, so it was a great performance, says Bo Zinck, who gave Tim Hartzell his starting debut.

The Swedish center back got away with it. After a slightly nervous start, he was strong in the picture when the lead had to be defended. The positioning was good, the passing of the ball was safe and the interventions were well timed.

– He recovered well after that. The last 70 minutes he played a really nice game, says Bo Zinck.
