On Thursday evening, at 5:25 p.m., a 32-year-old woman drove her car on the A13 motorway from Sargans SG towards St. Gallen. She noticed the cars braking in front of her too late and when she tried to avoid it, her car skidded and collided with the central barrier.
The impact caused the car to roll across both the overtaking lane and the standard lane and then come to a stop across the standard lane.
Total loss four times
Her accident triggered a subsequent collision with a total of four other cars involved. The 32-year-old woman, a six-year-old boy and a ten-year-old girl were slightly injured, and a 51-year-old woman suffered unspecified injuries, as the St. Gallen cantonal police announced on Friday. The emergency services took her to the hospital. Four of the five cars were totaled.

A 19-year-old crashed into a tree in Bazenheid.

Also on Thursday there was an accident on the Chrobüelstrasse from Kirchberg towards Bazenheid SG when a man (19) lost control of his BMW for unknown reasons. The car then ended up on the adjacent sidewalk, collided with a wooden fence and then slid around 90 meters down the sloping meadow. There the car finally crashed into a tree and stopped. The 19-year-old was slightly injured and was taken to hospital.
There was damage amounting to tens of thousands of francs.
