A1 takes over fiber optic network from VX Fiber in Dietach

A1 is expanding Austria’s largest fiber optic network Customers in Dietach benefit from additional offers from A1VX Fiber remains the operator and service platform of the fiber optic network – no changes for existing customers

Austria’s leading communications provider A1 is taking over the fiber optic infrastructure of the international operator VX Fiber in Dietach, Upper Austria. This means that around 30 kilometers of fiber optics and 1,500 households and businesses in the community will be integrated into A1’s largest fiber optic network. Existing broadband contracts in Dietach will remain unaffected by the network takeover.

Ultra-fast internet and the best fiber optic offers
The A1 fiber optic network is the largest broadband network in Austria with a length of more than 73,000 kilometers. More than 700,000 households are directly connected to the A1 fiber optic network via FTTH/B. The collaboration between A1 and VX Fiber now enables around 1,500 households in Dietach to order A1 products via the A1 fiber optic network in addition to the existing regional providers.

With the takeover of the fiber optic network in the community, A1 is using VX Fiber’s open access platform for the first time, on which other providers alongside A1 can also deliver their products. In addition to further automation of processes, this internationally proven system also enables regionalization of the products offered.
