Al-Marsad Newspaper: A 22-year-old man faced death, following he nearly made a medical mistake, to a dentist in one of the private clinics in Madinah.
In the details, mentioned by “Okaz”, the young man named “Moataz” swallowed, while undergoing treatment in a private clinic, a nerve pulling device, which fell in his throat and settled in his windpipe.
The father of the affected young man, Abdul Hamid Bukhari, explained the details of his son’s suffering, noting that the doctor at that time did not intervene to rescue him or refer him to a hospital, and did not care regarding the case, but rather met the incident coldly, claiming that the tool would come out when vomiting.
“Bukhari” pointed out that his son left the clinic and his brother transferred him to Uhud Hospital, suffering from severe pain in his stomach. After conducting an x-ray, it was found that the instrument was inside the trachea.
Moataz’s father indicated that he was summoned 3 days following the incident from the clinics complex and they demanded a settlement with him, but he refused all settlement attempts, preserving his son’s right to hold the doctor and the complex accountable for the negligence he was subjected to.
In a related development, Madinah Health Spokesman Muayyad Abu Anq said that measures have been taken regarding the complaint of the affected citizen, the registration of his testimony, and the postponement of the travel of those concerned with the complaint until the investigations are completed to refer it to the legitimate health authority.
