HM receives two years in prison while his partner, who had received a 12-month suspended sentence, is acquitted.
In April 2021, Delhaize customers reported to the company that their “super plus” points had been misappropriated. The Delhaize-Le Lion firm filed a complaint and the police tracked down the hacker. It was a young illegal resident who lived with his girlfriend in Charleroi. Thanks to the diverted points, the couple had been able to make purchases for a total sum of 1146 euros.
Investigators discovered that other platforms had been victims of the hacker, including SNCB, Carrefour, Netflix, Facebook and Spotify. The young man was particularly skilful. “I wanted to test the security level of all these companies,” he told his judges.
Finally, he created his YouTube channel, explaining how to hack a business.
HM was in a state of legal recidivism. He had previously been sentenced to 40 months in prison.
