The fatal road accident occurred on Saturday around 5 a.m. on National 4 at kilometer marker 31.7, between the crossroads of Hayettes and Môgreto, in the direction of traffic from Wavre to Gembloux.
For an as yet undetermined reason, the driver of a Seat Leone lost control of his vehicle which hit a tree, then rebounded on a second, before coming to rest on the road.
The car, a priori the only one involved, then caught fire. When the firefighters from the Walloon Brabant rescue zone intervened to put out the fire, they found that the driver was alone in the passenger compartment.
The victim, a resident of Walhain born in 1995, died at the scene of the swerve.
The intervention of a motor forensic expert and that of the victim identification service (DVI) of the federal police were required by the Walloon Brabant prosecutor’s office.
