A young couple opened Jutland’s largest, but now there is bad news: – We regret nothing

– It will be an adventure for both us and the customers.

The words fell when Nordjuyske interviewed Sanne Holst, who, together with her husband, Martin Madsen, was ready to open a new address with their Ønskebørn store, which they had then run for half a dozen years.

Frederikshavnsvej 88 was replaced in favor of the former Kontor & Papir premises on the other side of the roundabout – and thus the shop area was tripled.

Jutland’s biggest Wish children had been born.

However, the venture did not go as expected.

Few Facebook informs the couple that they have decided to resign.

– We want a new path in life – thank you for now. After almost 12 years with Ønskebørn Hjørring and the retail industry with babies and children, we now dream of new opportunities for us, our own children and our shared future, it says.

– It has not been easy to come to this decision and emotions have run high, but we feel more and more that it is the right thing for us. We are happy with everything we have achieved with the store and have no regrets, it added.

The background for the decision is explained by the fact that in recent years there have been major changes in customers’ shopping habits.

– We have tried to keep up, adapted the concept and tried to think outside the box – unfortunately, the concept is not sustainable and profitable. The idea tank is empty and the energy is low – therefore we say goodbye with timely care in respect for ourselves and our future, writes the couple, who emphasize that they have enjoyed all the years – and not least helping happy and expectant parents.

Onskebørn in Hjørring closes at the end of November, and the end-of-life sale has begun.
