A young woman shared the rare condition of not being able to urinate normally for a year. Ellie Adams, a British woman, was affected by Fowler’s syndrome. Fowler’s syndrome is the inability to urinate no matter how much water you drink. Ellie, 30, says she was perfectly healthy and had no other problems. The young woman added that one day when she woke up, she realized that she might not urinate and was completely devastated.
On reaching the hospital, the doctors found that Elli had a liter of urine inside her. Normally, the body can store regarding half a liter of urine in women and 700 milliliters in men. After understanding Ellie’s condition, doctors installed a special bag (catheter) to drain urine from her body. Ellie was then trained to use the catheter herself. Ellie says she lived with the help of a catheter for 14 months.
Ellie wrote on Instagram that it was the doctors who gave her the energy to come back from a place where she thought her life was over. The note says that following the SNS treatment, a device similar to a pacemaker was implanted in his body last January, he almost returned to a normal life. Flower syndrome is rare among young women. The reason for this is unclear.
