Israel’s brutal military aggression into the Gaza Strip since October 7 2023 destroyed 79% of all mosques in the Palestinian enclave. This was the statement from the Gaza Ministry of Religion, Saturday (5/10).
In its statement, the ministry said that Israeli attacks targeting innocent people and various public facilities and infrastructure destroyed 814 of the 1,245 mosques in Gaza and caused serious damage to 148 other mosques.
Apart from mosques, three churches and 19 of the 60 cemeteries were also targeted and destroyed by Israel deliberately. The Zionist army was also reported to have harassed and dismantled graves and stolen and mutilated bodies.

Apart from places of worship, the Gaza Ministry of Religion also noted that 11 educational and local government facilities under its authority were damaged. Israel also killed 288 of their employees and arrested 19 others.
Therefore, the Gaza Ministry of Religion condemns Israel’s systematic attacks on religious sites in the Palestinian enclave led by Hamas and urges the international community, including world organizations and Islamic organizations, to immediately intervene to stop these crimes.
Israel’s aggression against the Gaza Strip, which on October 7 2024 will be one year old, has killed more than 41,800 Gazans, mostly women and children, and injured 96,800 others, local health authorities said.
The attack has also caused almost the entire population of Gaza to become refugees. They face acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine due to the Israeli blockade.
Despite facing a trial at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for the crime of genocide and being instructed directly through a UN Security Council resolution to immediately implement a ceasefire, Israel continues its aggression in the Gaza Strip. (Ant/Z-2)
