A woman suffering from a rare disease spoke about an allergy to the sun

31-year-old resident of Texas, USA, Bex Bergman suffers from a rare allergieswhich causes her skin to develop a painful rash when exposed to sunlight.

The disease, called solar urticaria, forces her to either hide from the sun in the house, or wrap herself in special clothes from head to toe, says the Daily Mirror.

According to the woman, for the first time she noticed her allergy in September 2018, when she began to become covered with hives in light and open clothes in the sun. However, then the doctors advised her only to change the washing powder.

Only at the end of 2019 did Bergman diagnose dermatologisthaving once read regarding such a disease.

She tried antihistamines and histamine receptor blockers, but her condition continued to worsen. The woman then tried skin hardening, a form of therapy designed to combat allergen and boosting immunity.

However, this led to anaphylactic shock, and the woman almost died.

Bergman had to replace the entire wardrobe and black out the windows in the car. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the costs of the medicines she needs are not covered by health insurance.

Now the woman is working to disseminate information regarding this rare disease.
