A well-rehearsed technique was employed by these three suspects in Antwerp for credit card fraud.

The prime suspect, who is 41 years old, allegedly spied on ATM users of a bank to see their card’s code. Subsequently, he distracted them and stole their cards. After that, he tried to convince them to re-enter the code pretending it is for their benefit. With stolen cards, the suspect made some purchases. Meanwhile, two other men worked as drivers for him. In particular, one of them was driving a Maserati. The vehicle’s distinctiveness helped the investigators track down the group. During the probe, the police seized cash of 7,120 euros, clothes, two cars, and multiple cell phones from the suspects.

The main suspect, aged 41, is said to have spied on his victims as they carried out transactions at the ATMs of their bank branch, looking at the code on their card over their shoulder. He then distracted these people to steal their card, and tried to convince them that they had to enter their code once more to get it back. The suspect might then make various purchases with these stolen cards. The other two men acted as drivers.

One of them was driving a Maserati car. It was this distinctive vehicle that put investigators on the trail of the trio. During the investigation, the police also confiscated several cell phones, clothes, two cars and 7,120 euros in cash from the suspects.

In conclusion, this brazen gang of thieves has been apprehended thanks to good police work and the brave victims who came forward to report their crimes. It serves as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings when using ATMs, and to never give your card or personal information to anyone who approaches you. Hopefully, justice will be served and these criminals will be punished for their actions.
