A week dedicated to the integration of new students

Organized in partnership with the French Institute of Marrakech (IFM) and the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) Marrakech-Safi, this event to raise awareness and introduce graduates to the university system, offers the opportunity to targeted students to inquire, better appreciate and understand the diversity and richness of university life, while learning regarding a battery of rules, instructions and conditions conducive to university success.

Scheduled until September 24, this socio-educational event aims to welcome new students and above all to forge links between them and the oldest, in order to facilitate and succeed their integration into this establishment.

It also sets itself the task of making them discover the different dependencies of this Faculty, and providing them with the necessary information concerning the teaching system and the pedagogical architecture adopted in the different sectors.

Speaking on this occasion, the President of the UCA, Lhassan Hbid, underlined that the Week of integration of new students encompasses various pedagogical, administrative, cultural and artistic activities and involves the internal actors and the pedagogical and socio-economic partners. Introducing UCA to new graduates, he underlined that the university offer of this University is constantly evolving, making this establishment a model in scientific research at the national, continental and even international levels, in certain specialties, indicating that this University, present in Marrakech, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Safi and Essaouira, includes some 221 courses, 21 doctoral specialties, 68 specialized masters and 59 laboratories dedicated to scientific research.

This Faculty is working to strengthen the university offer by creating new courses adapted to national and international changes in the job market, he noted, indicating that the UCA provides its students with two platforms distance learning, in order to facilitate the integration of its students into the labor market.

He also indicated that the UCA has programmed a certain number of activities for the benefit of its students, focusing first on the issues of territorial integrity, the promotion of women’s issues, in addition to actions relating to climate change, in particular water scarcity.

The 9th edition of the Integration Week for new students aims to eradicate “the negative representation” that baccalaureate holders have of the world of the University, to fight once morest abandonment, dropping out and failure, to promote the success of studies, facilitate the integration of students, become familiar with new teaching methods, acquire methodological tools for university work, initiate e-learning and promote autonomy.

This week has been designed in the form of attractive dynamic workshops and all activities are done in groups supervised by a teacher/tutor promoting the autonomy and empowerment of students in a friendly atmosphere.

The program includes in particular exhibitions, conferences, the presentation of the study programs at the FSSM, guided tours of the administrative services, photography competitions, debates, cultural and recreational activities, and meetings with partners and socio-economic actors.
