On March 11, around 12:00, when State Police officials received a call to an address in Jaunpils Parish, where a complaint regarding a loud company was initially received, upon arriving at the scene and explaining the circumstances, it was recorded that one of the companies might be a person wanted by the State Police in another criminal trial for bodily harm. causing damage on the side of Talsi. Considering that this person had already left, the State Police officials followed the man and near the place of the call, they met the wanted man and two other men who tried to run away and actively resisted the lawful demands of the police.
The man, born in 1999 and wanted by the State Police, actively showed aggression and resisted arrest using physical force, including threatening to use violence. At the same time, during the arrest of the person, the two present companions also showed resistance, entering into attack positions. In order to detain the aggressive men, the State Police officials had to use tear gas, following which the persons were successfully detained and taken to the police station for further procedural actions.
Later, the wanted man was handed over to the North Kurzeme precinct of the Kurzeme Region Administration of the State Police and the man was placed in the Short-Term Detention Isolator for the performance of procedural actions in connection with the criminal proceedings in which the person was wanted. According to the information at the disposal of the Kurzeme region administration of the State Police, in January of this year, a man in Tals violated the conditions of probation. Namely, at the time when he was supposed to be at his place of residence, the man was in some entertainment place, where he had a conflict with the visitors and injured a man. The officials of the North Kurzeme station of the Kurzeme region administration of the State Police started criminal proceedings for the incident, as the man was supposed to be arrested on March 7 of this year, but he ran away, following which he was declared wanted and a few days later, on March 11, he was arrested in Jaunpils parish.
Officials of the Kurzeme region administration of the State Police went to the court within the framework of the criminal proceedings to ask for a security measure to be applied to the man – detention, which has already come into force. The investigation in the criminal proceedings regarding the infliction of bodily harm in Talsos has also been completed, and the materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office at the beginning of this week for the initiation of criminal prosecution.
