A Voice for the Voiceless: González’s Cry for Respect Ignites a Movement

The candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo González Urrutia, called for voting on July 28 to “make it clear that our dignity is no longer trampled.”

This Tuesday, July 9, Edmundo González held a meeting with retirees and pensioners at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), in which he expressed his commitment to “solving the enormous problems that we Venezuelans who have dedicated our lives to are experiencing.” the construction of a Venezuela of progress.

«I have a deep commitment to social justice. From the first day of my government, we are going to face this unjust situation,” he stressed. In addition, he rectified his “commitment to dignifying the lives of all retirees in this country” by highlighting that they are “the image of effort.”

He also stated that “it is not only unfair that pensions reach 3 dollars a month. Also the loneliness to which they have forced us, separating us from our children and grandchildren, expelling them to seek a better life and help us on our path.

He expressed that “a power that despises those of us who provide experience does not deserve to be in charge of leading the country one more day.”

In this sense, he recalled that in democratic Venezuela “the pensioner faced the future calmly, with tranquility, enjoying their families, their grandchildren and their children. But not now.”

He assured that “changing this reality is one of the reasons why this coming 28th we must all go out and vote with faith and hope that change will be a reality.”

«On that day we must all make it clear that our dignity is no longer trampled on. Let’s convert the desire for change into votes. “I assume that commitment and I count on all the Venezuelan men and women, and you count on me,” he stressed.
