A violent fight breaks out during a football tournament for minors in Schaerbeek: “Three minors have been arrested”

The atmosphere was good-natured at the Brussels European Football Cup which was held at the Crossing in Schaerbeek this Sunday, where teams from the four corners of Europe competed.

But around 5:30 p.m., a violent altercation took place between two parents following an arbitration decision. The situation quickly escalated. “There was a heated exchange between two parents. Taking advantage of this exchange, several young people tried to steal one of the two spectators.explains Audrey Deraeymaecker, spokesperson for the Brussels North police zone (Schaerbeek, Evere, Saint-Josse).

The young people, minors, tried to steal the victim’s watch and his personal effects, in vain. “It turns out that the victim managed to defend himself and no personal effects were stolen. He did, however, receive beatings. He was going to consult a doctor following his hearing and the duration of his incapacity for work is unknown.
