A video of the “majestic” procession of the President of Israel, and Erdogan’s reception style provokes interaction

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists on social media circulated videos and photos of the motorcade of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and the way Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received him in an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex, Wednesday.

Herzog’s visit is the first by an Israeli president to Turkey since former President Shimon Peres traveled to Ankara in 2007.

After arriving in Ankara, the Israeli president went to the mausoleum of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and then to the presidential complex to meet Erdogan, according to video footage published by the Anatolia News Agency.

Relations between the two countries have been tense over the past decade, following they suffered a major blow in 2010 when Israeli soldiers stormed the Marmara ship, a Turkish aid convoy bound for the Gaza Strip. At that time, Turkey suspended diplomatic relations with Israel.
