Young French star Kylian Mbappe led the roosters to be the first to qualify for the round of 16 in the World Cup in Qatar, following defeating Denmark 2-1 on Saturday evening.

Mbappe scored the roosters’ first goal in the 61st minute, before Denmark defender Andres Christensen equalized following just seven minutes.

In the 86th minute, Mbappe hit Denmark once more, with a cross sent by Kingsley Coman from the right wing.

After the end of the second round of Group D competitions, France maintained the lead with 6 points and officially secured qualification at the top of the group.

Australia came in second place with 3 points, then Denmark third and Tunisia fourth, each with one point.

In the third and final round, the Tunisian national team will meet the French, and the Danish national team will meet the Australian at the same time next Wednesday.
