A very rare Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss for sale

A very rare Mercedes is going to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s. The specialist in the sale of collectible vehicles is preparing to offer a Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss from 2010. It is inspired by the lines of the legendary Mercedes 300 SLR with which Stirling Moss won the 1955 Mille Miglia with Denis Jenkinson as co-driver.

The Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss is actually the latest version of the Mercedes SLR McLaren, with significant changes. The Stirling Moss Edition has lost 200 kg compared to the SLR 722 Edition, largely thanks to the removal of the upper part, including the windshield.

That Mercedes can reach 354 km/h, thanks to a 5.5 L V8 turbo developing 641 horsepower and developed by AMG.

Most examples of the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss were delivered in metallic grey, with a black and red leather interior.

The example offered for sale has known only one owner and has never left Germany. It only displays 150 km on the odometer, which guarantees good condition for this very rare model, of which only 75 are produced by the German manufacturer.

The Mercedes will be offered for sale by SM Sotheby’s from January 31 until February 8, with no reserve price, which means that no minimum amount is requested by the seller.

Before finding its new buyer, this Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss will be exhibited at the Retromobile Show 2023 at the Porte de Versailles, from February 1 to 5.
