Searches were underway on Sunday followingnoon to try to locate a vehicle that would have sunk in the Chaudière River in Beauceville.
Around 3 p.m., a person called 911 to report that a vehicle had sunk into the river.
Since then, police and firefighters have been working hard to try to find the famous vehicle, as well as to determine if anyone was on board, explained Hélène St-Pierre, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
A diving team was also dispatched to the scene, said Ms. St-Pierre.
In addition to the search on the water, neighborhood inquiries were underway to try to find out more regarding the vehicle that disappeared under the waves.
