More Wear OS smartwatches will be able to control Nest cameras
Google Pixel Watch 3 was launched in the middle of the month alongside the new Google Pixel 9 series and the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 headphones: the new Wear OS smartwatch offers several interesting features, and one of these concerns Google Home and devices from the Nest line.
As we have seen, in fact, it is possible to perform various actions directly from the smartwatch: for example, you can access notifications Nest Cam e Nest Doorbell to tell the courier to leave the package in front of the door, but also view live video streaming and have a two-way conversation. As we can see inside one of the pages of official Google support, these features will also be made available on previous generations (Google Pixel Watch and Google Pixel Watch 2, the latter still available for purchase on Google Store) and on other smartwatches running Wear OS (like the recent Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and so on).
Google talks about the ability to manage and control Nest cameras directly from the site, and states that live video and quick actions are available on the Google Pixel Watch 3, adding that These features will be made available soon on the altri Pixel Watch and on Wear OS device. Pretty unequivocal.
By connecting to your Nest cameras or doorbell with your watch, you can access the live video feed from your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell, get notifications to check on footage, and perform quick actions, like two-way talk or quick replies. It’s not exactly clear at the moment what Google means by “soon,” but our advice is to keep l’app Google Home always updated to the latest version.
