Pir Maqsood Shah, who migrated to America in the nineties, had planned to build small dams on the advice of a local elder.
Initially, they protected the rainwater drains by damming them and started storing water by making small ponds. Later, when the results began to be evident, they expanded the work by sending more money from the United States and started collecting natural rainwater and storm drains next to their houses to supply water to nearby communities.
The local residents started devoting their lands because the main problem of the people here was water.
Speaking to Independent Urdu, Pir Syed Gul Ali Shah, the head of the project and brother of Pir Maqsood Ali Shah, said that ‘we people work here for free and all this for the pleasure of Allah and to raise the level of underground water. are being done so that abundant water is available for the population, birds and animals living here.

“So far we have constructed 65 mini dams, while 10 other small dams have also been constructed and work on the 11th small dam is in progress.”
He said that these dams are also called water reservoirs and two of them are made of concrete.
“To build dams, we did not take money from the local population, government or any non-governmental organization, but all the money is provided by Pakistani Peer Syed Maqsood Ali Shah living in America.”
He said that the mission of Pir Maqsood Ali Shah is to eliminate environmental pollution by building dams, raise the underground water level and continue the process of supplying water to the residents of the area.
He further informed that Pir Maqsood Ali Shah has also provided furniture to the schools here and is also doing the work of planting trees in the entire area. ‘Now some fish have been released in the dams to benefit the aquatic life as well.’
