A unique vacation on Anticosti Island

– Anticosti Island is made up of a mosaic of landscapes: high cliffs lapped by the waves of the sea, spectacular waterfalls, wriggling salmon rivers… It is also the domain of thousands of white-tailed deer, undisputed stars of premises. In order not to frighten these deer, dogs are prohibited on the island.

– In addition to deer, you can observe a host of animal species such as red foxes, bald eagles, seabirds, seals and whales.

– The Vauréal waterfall, 76 meters high, is one of the major attractions of Anticosti. You can get there by walking in the bed of the river (7 km round trip) or contemplate it from lookouts.

– The cliffs of the Baie de la Tour are spectacular. You can climb them by taking a path from where the view is superb.

– The emerald and crystalline waters of the Jupiter River make it one of the most beautiful salmon rivers on the planet (fishing license required).

– You can explore the Grotte à la Patate, one of the longest underground cavities in Quebec at 625 meters. Helmet and headlamp available for rental at the McDonald Service Center.

– A 475 km long hiking trail around the island is being developed.
