A truck full of rocks overturns in the Outaouais

A truck full of rock overturned on the side of the road Thursday morning in La Pêche, in the Outaouais region.

The swerve took place around 8 a.m. on the site of a quarry located in the Edelweiss sector.

The truck which was going downhill would have hit rocks on the side of the road and then overturned, according to what the police of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais said.

The driver of the heavy vehicle, a 45-year-old man from the Quebec City region, was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Due to the work-related nature of the accident, investigators from the Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work Commission (CNESST) were dispatched to the scene.
