Scandinavia has been conquering Polish apartments with the style of interior design for years, but not only. More and more people choose the Scandinavian country as a holiday destination. This is possible thanks to cheap flights, interesting ferry connections, as well as motorhome trips. Wild nature and fjords in Norway, the interesting architecture of Sweden and the unique atmosphere of Denmark attract tourists at any time of the year. Contrary to appearances, it does not have to be an expensive trip, the key is to plan the budget properly, make advance reservations, exchange money and stick to the plan.

How to plan a budget trip?
First, specify the length of the trip, this will determine the final costs. Then think regarding what you expect from your holiday, is it a short city break allowing you to see the most important tourist attractions, or a longer trip, thanks to which we will rest in the bosom of nature and will be able to get to know the climate of the selected country better? While the transport itself will cost the same regardless of the length of the trip, accommodation and rest will largely affect the final costs. The most economical option is to go in the summer, then we can choose accommodation on a campsite or camping. If you are flying by plane, it is worth checking in advance how the costs of renting a car are shaped. If you are traveling in your own car, it may be a good idea to bring your own food.
A trip to Norway – how many Norwegian crowns do you need to prepare?
Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world. For visitors who do not earn in Norwegian kroner, prices in restaurants in the center of Oslo, for example, may surprise. However, this does not immediately mean that the trip will empty our wallet quickly. After all, you can plan your trip so as to optimize costs. In the case of accommodation, an early booking or selection of a camping site will certainly be more economical. Car rental in Norway is definitely more expensive than in other Western European countries. A trip to a restaurant, alcohol or public transport tickets will cost NOK the most. Although the exchange rate of the Norwegian krone is not high (it does not exceed PLN 0.50), when planning a trip to the country of the fjords, we do not have to be afraid of sudden fluctuations and that the prices will increase even more. The current NOK exchange rate can be followed here:
A trip to Sweden – should you take Swedish crowns in cash?
Sweden, like Norway, is not the cheapest country. How much Swedish crowns will we pay for accommodation or attractions? It really all depends on the location. Big cities, including the capital, are relatively expensive. Public transport has high ticket prices, but if you plan intensive sightseeing, then it is worth buying a Travelcard time card, it will be a more favorable and more profitable solution. Many attractions and museums in Sweden can be visited for free. What is worth knowing before leaving? Swedish currency in cash is practically falling out of use. In most places, you can only pay in SEK by credit card or phone. Therefore, when exchanging PLN for SEK, it is better to do it online, e.g. here:
City break in Denmark – how many Danish kroner should you exchange?
Although Denmark is not the first choice holiday destination, it will still be great as a short city break to visit Copenhagen, visit Legoland in Billund, or for a longer trip to the wild corners of Denmark or the Faroe Islands. At the planning stage, it is worth considering what we really care regarding. When it comes to prices in Denmark, we will pay more for tourist attractions, converted into Danish crowns, than in other European countries. Therefore, before leaving, it is worth taking care of a favorable DKK exchange – you can check the Danish krone exchange rate here:
What else is worth taking care of before the trip?
Certainly, before we start packing, it is worth checking the weather forecast, but we must not forget that in Scandinavian countries it is better to be prepared for all conditions. It is not worth leaving the purchase of currency for the last minute, exchange at the exchange office at the airport or in tourist places is usually charged with a larger margin. If you want to avoid driving around the city in search of an exchange office that will offer a favorable exchange rate of NOK, DKK, or SEK, it is better to buy currency online.
