“We never say bad things regarding the dead, but for him, there would never have been anything bad to say. » The sentence is signed Bernard Rayers, a collector, following the announcement of the death of the painter Miguel Amoros, Saturday September 30 in Barbizon (Seine-et-Marne). Very involved in the artistic life of the village, he was 81 years old.

150 years of the Angelus

“He was part of the village’s figurative school,” explains Jean-Michel Gout-Werner, a former Barbizon resident and exhibition organizer. He had a certain success and very often exhibited his works in the painters’ village. »

With the painter Nicole Gane, he notably represented the City of Barbizon during an artistic trip to Japan. For the 150th anniversary of the Angelus, the famous painting by Jean-François Millet, he, with other painters from the village, participated in the festivities with the creation of a painting.

His funeral scheduled for Monday October 16

“He was someone with a heart on his sleeve,” continues Bernard Rayers. For Cléo, one of his relatives, who worked with him for almost forty years, “he is a figure of local artistic life who has left. Forest, flowers, village: he was a faithful painter of nature, defying all criticism, but also very endearing and faithful in friendship. »

In addition to the Fontainebleau forest, he often went to Morocco and Laos to paint. His funeral is scheduled for this Monday, October 16 at 2:30 p.m., at the Barbizon chapel, then at 4:30 p.m. at the Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry crematorium.
