A screenshot by a Facebook user named “Melody Favela Perez” (which the networks claim is a trans woman) recently became a trend following recounting “a bitter experience” at a convention in Mexico. The user narrated that she attended the TNT Expo, an animation and comics convention in Mexico, with a cosplay of Rizu-kyun of “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling)”.
“Ryzu Kyun” is one of the characters that Marin Kitagawa, the protagonist, cosplays within the story. However, since it is a succubus, she wears little clothing on top and only a thong on the bottom, which would explain why the user received several calls for attention from the event’s security personnel. Unfortunately “Melody Favela Perez” disappeared from social networks, but you can check this image of the character to give you an idea:
Given the multiple calls for attention, the event’s security personnel did not take long to ask “Melody Favela Perez” to leave the facilities.also including another of his friends who was dressed as Blackbeard from “ONE PIECE” (an obese character who is usually shown with his shirt open and showing his belly).
But let’s stop telling stories and review what he posted on Facebook (we have fixed the grammatical errors):
- «This was my horrible experience at TNT: I was very excited with my Rizu Kyun cosplay, I went with my best friend who was Makima, one who was Blackbeard, and two others. And so we were walking for a while and taking photos, until a random girl comes up to me and says, “Hey, put something on, it’s for your own good,” and I said, “Get off your ass,” and I ignored her and she left.
- And a while later, regarding three security women come to me insisting that I wear something because I look obscene. And I was like, “No moms, don’t you know what kind of event this is?”, and I didn’t pay attention to them. They started to follow us and follow us, insisting, and the girl didn’t want to pay attention because that’s cosplay and that’s it. They called more security and applied force to me, struggling to pull me to the exit and well, I punched one of them.
- They already touched me, they already broke my cosplay because I got angry and hit. And my friends, not knowing what to do because they were female guards, took me to the head of security and pleaded for me and nothing. And to top it all off, they gave a shit to my friend Blackbeard because he was shirtless, and to everyone else just because they were with me. And to top it off, they were going to call a patrol, which I didn’t even care regarding at this point.
- This was going to be a special day for me. I wanted to show off my cosplay, and some damn bigots ruined it all. I hope you are on my side and make this event fun».
Unfortunately there is only one screenshot, so the story is suddenly cut off and there is no way to get the full story because “Melody Favela Perez” no longer exists on Facebook (or maybe it’s a private post). Although the user refers to “exaggerated security measures”, in fact Expo TNT adequately explains the following in its regulations:
- Expo TNT access, management and behavior rules based on federal and local legislation:
- All participants accept and must comply with the following provisions. Failure to comply with them will imply, depending on the fault: a call for attention, the withdrawal of the badge, bracelet, ticket and/or accreditation without refund of the amount thereof, the expulsion from the event and/or the submission to the corresponding authorities. .
- (Omission) 8. Participants will not be allowed to enter if their clothing reveals their private parts or their costumes are judged too daring.
Although the regulations are very subjective and are left “at the discretion of the security personnel,” in the end the majority of Internet users sided with the guards, as the comments show:
- «It’s hard for me to have an opinion if I don’t see the cosplay».
- «Until they finally do something regarding it. Girls like that come to those events because of the simps».
- «I looked for it and it is a rag, no wonder the insistence that it be covered down there».
- «On TNT there are a lot of girls in bikinis and wigs, but at least they wear something to cover themselves at times because it is a convention for all audiences».
- «He’s a man, technically being dressed like that is illegal in a good number of countries».
- «That’s why I stopped going to these events years ago.».
- «“Not knowing what to do because they were female guards,” so did they have a plan if they got male guards?».
- «Whether trans or not, it is not correct for him to appear like this at a convention where minors attend».
- «She says she wanted to wear that cosplay to increase her self-esteem, but she called the security people fat and started criticizing girls’ cosplays that were prettier than hers. People who saw her also say that her thong was falling off and she was very happy showing, so she was rather angry because they didn’t let her fulfill her exhibitionist fantasy.».
- «According to what was published on Instagram, the guy was only wearing a thong, which some of the attendees claim was also falling off, to the point that all the squirrel and two nuts were visible.».
