Seven members of the same family, including three children from Ans, in the province of Liège, lost their lives on Friday in Morocco, La Meuse and L’Avenir report on Saturday.
The Liège family on vacation in Morocco had left, with cousins, uncles and aunts, on an excursion to the oasis of Fint, in the south of the country, some 130 kilometers from Marrakech. On the spot, one of the cousins died following drowning, for an as yet undetermined reason. One of the vehicles in the convoy bringing back the body and the already bereaved family then pulled off the road. Six of the seven occupants of the vehicle, three of the four children from Anse, two nephews and an aunt, lost their lives in the accident.
One of the children was a member of RFC Liège. The football club announced on the Facebook page that the players will wear a black armband during the friendly match once morest Tubize this Saturday as a sign of mourning and support. “An absolute tragedy and an intense pain that no words might come to appease…“, writes the club.
