In an unexpected shock to the art audience in Turkey, the body of the well-known Turkish actress Seyda Fattahoglu, 44 years old, was found in a park in Istanbul under mysterious circumstances.

The accident occurred in the Omer Avni neighborhood of Istanbul at around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10. The police found Oglu’s body lying on her back, with a gunshot wound on the right side of her face.

Initial information from the investigation, which was followed by the Turkey Now website, confirmed that the police found a gun licensed in the name of the actress next to her body, and it contained seven bullets, in addition to an empty shell. Police also reportedly found anti-depressant medications in her personal bag.

Regarding the details of the incident, the university student who found Oglu’s body said: “I was walking in the park when I heard the sound of gunfire, so I went to the source of the sound and found actress Seyda Fattahoglu wounded by a bullet in her head, so I immediately informed the police.”

The City Theater in Istanbul expressed its deep sadness over this tragic accident, noting their loss of one of the most prominent actresses in Turkish theater and television. Oglu’s most recent participation was the role of “Sultan” in the television series “Children Have No Hearing.”

Seyda Fattahoglu was born in 1979 in Trabzon, and graduated from Bilkent University in Istanbul. During her artistic career, she participated in many television series and theatrical works, and was considered one of the famous faces in the Turkish art world.
