A traffic expert suggested the abolition of North Jutland express trains – now DSB is responding

The proposal will result in more train departures for the few, but longer journey times for the many.

Naturally, local traffic is important and must continue to be a priority. At the same time, we must be relevant to the many people who travel daily, for example, between Aalborg, Hobro, Randers and Aarhus.

Here, a journey time with the lightning trains of 1 hour and 10 minutes compared to the regional trains’ 1 hour and 30 minutes means a lot when the train has to be chosen.

For regular commuters, several hours are thus saved – per week!

When a record number of customers flock back to the trains after a few difficult years with corona, it is primarily because we have a good offer for those traveling short and long and everything in between.

And precisely the journey time is an absolutely decisive factor when the train has to compete with cars, buses and planes.

It is also against this background that massive investments are being made in increasing the speed of the Danish railway in these years. Time is important for customers – and for our society. In this way, the train will be even better equipped to ensure attractive and more climate-friendly transport.

And where Tøfting is largely based on local traffic, DSB aims to create space for everyone on the journey towards sustainability.

In this way, we get as many people as possible to use public transport and reduce congestion on the roads by ensuring that we can all get around the region and across the country quickly.
