A ticket sold in Maine was the winner of the $1.35 billion Mega Millions jackpot

(CNN) — A ticket sold in Maine beat the bizarre odds on Friday the 13th and will claim the approximately $1.35 billion Mega Millions jackpot, said the lottery.

The winning numbers for Friday night were 30-43-45-46-61 with a Mega Ball of 14.

Officials said the estimated annualized jackpot could be worth $1.35 billion, while the potential lump-sum cash payout is $724.6 million.

“Congratulations to the Maine State Lottery, which has just won its first Mega Millions jackpot,” said Pat McDonald, who runs the Ohio Lottery and serves as Principal Director of the Mega Millions Consortium. “This is the fourth billion dollar jackpot in Mega Millions history.”

Friday’s jackpot was the second-biggest Mega Millions jackpot, surpassed only by the lottery record $1.537 million won in South Carolina in 2018, the lottery said. The jackpot size has increased over the past three months or so, eventually surpassing the remarkable $1 billion.

Prior to this month’s victory, six top prizes were won on Friday the 13th in the US, according to Mega Millions.

Other big winners from Friday’s drawing include 14 tickets that won prizes of $1 million, according to Mega Millions. Four tickets matching all five white balls were sold in New York, two each in California, and one each in Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Friday’s jackpot comes just three months after a $502 million jackpot on Oct. 14, when there were two winning tickets from California and Florida.
