A third defeat in a row without consequence for Switzerland

Switzerland conceded Herning a third defeat in a row in the group stage of the Women’s World Championship. The Swiss lost 4-0 to Finland.

This defeat has no negative consequences for the formation of Colin Müller, already assured of its qualification for the quarter-finals even before engaging iron in Denmark. This Thursday in ‘the’ match that will count, that is to say the quarter-final, the Swiss will meet Japan, whom they beat 3-1 in their first match of the tournament.

Against Finland, Switzerland did not hold out for very long. The Filandaises were already leading 2-0 in the 7th minute to sign an uneventful success. Opposed in the small final of the last World Championship and Olympic Games, the two teams might once more meet for a third time in a row with the bronze medal at stake. The margin enjoyed by Canada and the United States practically prevents any hope of aiming higher for both the Finns and the Swiss.
