Considered “as the benchmark brand for the athletic preparation of champions”, Technogym has set up a Technogym Village on the occasion of the ninth stage of the Tour of Italy on Sunday 14 May. The Italian brand intends to shine brightly in this 35 km individual time trial contested between Savignano sul Rubicone and Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna, near the Adriatic Sea.

It is no coincidence that the Giro chose Technogym, specialist in digital products and technologies dedicated to fitness, also official supplier of the last eight Olympic Games and recently nominated for the next Paris Games. Technogym has always been the reference partner for the physical preparation of the most important professional sports teams and champions around the world, including Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter. We can also mention the French football team which, during the last World Cup in Qatar, trained on its equipment.

Gianni Bugno, Laurent Jalabert seduced by Technogym technology

Technogym’s passion for cycling dates back to the 1990s. In 1995, the MG Boys Maglificio team, looking for a new sponsor, placed their trust in the Italian brand. The team had champions of the caliber of Gianni Bugno in its ranks. Thanks to its champions, Technogym claims to have won three victories in the Giro d’Italia and two in the Tour de France.

In the mid-1990s, Technogym developed Spintrainer – “the first cyclo simulator on the fitness market” – which then inspired the design of many technologies dedicated to the training of cyclists. The latest innovation proposed by the specialist is Technogym Ride, “the first smart bike that allows live access to the applications most popular with cyclists, from its integrated 22-inch screen”. The champion Laurent Jalabert is in particular a convinced follower as we can see here. From a biomechanical point of view, Technogym Ride is equipped with a real gearbox and offers an incredibly realistic feeling of pedaling compared to a road bike.

Motivate people to exercise

This Sunday, the Wellness Campus of Technogym will welcome more than 200 journalists (Italian and international) who will follow the finish of the stage, around 200 people invited by Technogym from all over Europe (including clients, sports trainers and fitness industry professionals), as well as guests from other Giro d’Italia sponsors. All those who will be there – in addition to the arrival of the Corsa Rosa – will have the opportunity to test the many innovations developed by Technogym for the world of cycling. The morning, the Technogym Village will also host the arrival of the Giro-Ethe parallel race to the traditional Giro, which allows enthusiasts to follow the same course as the champions on electric bikes.

With the passage of the Corsa Rosa, la Wellness Foundationthe non-profit organization that wants to make Romagna the first Wellness region in the world, will also take the opportunity to promote the Wellness culture and motivate the local community to exercise and stay active.
