A teacher would have sexually abused at least 26 little boys in Frasnes and Molenbeek

The prosecutor requested, on Wednesday, before the Brussels Criminal Court, a four-year prison sentence once morest a teacher accused of sexual abuse of very young students. The investigation made it possible to identify 26 victims, of whom only a few became civil parties to the trial, via their parents. The facts took place in two schools, one in Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, in Hainaut, and the other in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, in the Brussels region, between 2017 and 2019.

The representative of the public prosecutor considers, on the basis of the expert psychiatrist’s report, that the defendant represents “a real danger for minors in our society”. According to the report, the defendant is a “pedophile in the exploratory phase”.

The investigation revealed that the latter acted according to the same modus operandi with each of the victims, young boys aged 5 or 6 years. The teacher accompanied the little boys to the toilets who asked his permission to go there. Once inside the restroom, he sexually abused them.

After a first complaint in October 2017, filed by the parents of a child victim, in a school in Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, the defendant had been heard for the first time by the police in June 2018, but had denied the facts.

The teacher then left his post, before being hired in another school, in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, where he once more committed the same acts.

The man was arrested on May 8, 2019, before being released on conditions. He then confessed to the serious facts of which he is accused, affirming “to have slipped” and saying “to feel ashamed”.
