A teacher raises controversy in Egypt after walking with bodyguards!

The spread of a picture of an Egyptian teacher walking with about 20 macho bodyguards sparked a storm of controversy on social networking sites in the country.

Communication activists wondered about the reason that prompted the teacher to do this. Is it for the sake of show or merit, or to protect herself from threats to her?

While it was found that the teacher, named Asmaa Emad, who lives in the Faisal area, south of Giza, teaches biology to high school students, and she confirmed the truth of the incident to Al-Arabiya.net.

She also explained that this took place during the days of Eid, as she announced the presentation and explanation of the difficult points in the neighborhood curriculum through a comic play on a theater in the Ramses area in the heart of Cairo, adding that the idea was welcomed by students and parents, especially that it is free and free of charge.

It also revealed that due to the increase in the number of students participating and willing to attend and the distance from their homes, I decided to use bodyguards to organize matters and reassure the parents about the safety of their children, and to intimidate students who may take advantage of the crowds and the large number of participants to riot.

She emphasized that the theatrical performance had already succeeded and the students enjoyed it and understood what was difficult for them, pointing out that it had won wide praise from parents.

She also said that the bodyguards who participated in securing the theatrical performance, are training in a gym owned by her husband, and they did not receive any financial compensation, but rather came as a courtesy.

While she concluded by saying that she took care of the theater’s rent and the completion of the necessary approvals and permits, she did not get any compensation from the students, while a number of parents participated in nominal amounts to contribute to providing drinks.
