A surprising story of a man who left modern life and lived in the jungle for years

A man from Norway left the luxury and modern life of Europe to live with a tribe living in the jungles of Indonesia.

And after living in the forest for three years, he has now shared the shocking details of his experience with the world. According to Mail Online, the man’s name is Odin Amundsen. He came to Indonesia for the first time in 2004 at the age of 24 and stayed with the wild tribe for a month before returning.

Then in 2009, he returned and lived with the tribe for three years as they did, capturing his days and nights on camera. Now this documentary of his is going to be released to the world in the form of a film. During these three years, filmmaker Odin learned the language of the tribe, which they only speak but do not write because they have no concept of education.

Odin says, “What I missed most about my years in the jungle with this tribe called the Mentawai were the conveniences of the modern world and the delicious food. I was there with the people of the tribe. Together we made arrows and then with them we used to hunt which was our food.

We mostly hunted monkeys, bats and prawns etc.” In his stay with the tribe, Odin lures a young man from the tribe, ‘Aman Peksa’, into the modern urban life and lures him to the city. Encourages employment.

Inspired by her words, he goes to work in the city, but soon gets tired of the noise of the city and goes back to his tribe in the forest. ‘I don’t like this noise, I’m going back,’ he says. The name of Odin’s new film is ‘New Topia’ which is going to release soon. It tells the story of Peksa, a native of the tribe, who comes to the city to find a job and then returns.
