Storm Malik, which hits the North Sea and parts of Europe, has killed two people in the United Kingdom, injured another, and cut off electricity to dozens of homes.
The German Meteorological Service warned of storms that might reach the level of hurricanes on the coast and in the northeastern half of the country.
On the other hand, a severe winter storm swept the northeastern United States of America, prompting the governors of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and other states to declare a state of emergency, warning of the possibility of power outages, while the storm forced airlines to cancel nearly six thousand flights during the weekend.
The weather service warned of the possibility of flooding in coastal areas of the Boston city area, and Amtrak Railroad Company canceled passenger services in most of the area.
